JM International, Dwarka promoting Global understanding

“The world is a book, and those who do not travel read only a page.”

JM International School, Sector 6, Dwarka believes in making the world a truly global village. It aims at providing global experiences in classrooms. The school is a member of many International communities for collaborative projects so that the learners and educators can develop a broader perspective and involve themselves in promoting global understanding and peace. These programmes also make the JMians and partner schools learn from each other through a sharing of ideas and Action Research undertaken.

Most important among these is the Tony Blair Face to Faith programme, in which a series of facilitated video conferences enable direct encounter and structured exchanges between a number of schools from all across the world. The school is also involving itself with the International School Award programme of British Council. Students are also involved in collaborative work on Study of SUPW Projects and Leadership Camps with the University of Jyvaskyla, Finland. On 27th November 2009, a delegation from this University consisting of Research Scholars under the leadership of visited JM International School and went back very impressed with the aptitude and confidence of students.

The school also has taken up a project for its Class I and II students on Study of Wildlife in Australia. The projects on Comparison of Education System in Russia and Celebrations of Special Days by the Embassy of Colombia are also underway and students and faculty from time to time attend the Colombian Embassy events and celebrations.

The school’s UNESCO Club is also actively involved in promoting international understanding and world peace. 22 students and 6 educators participated in a Peace March around the periphery of Lodhi Gardens and India International Centre. They carried placards exhorting all to be more tolerant and understand that the world is truly a global village.
