Unevenly distribution of WATER across Dwarka

Jansaskriti Dwarka Executive Committee strongly criticised the step motherly attitude of Delhi Jal Board and Delhi Development Authority with regard to the distribution of water in the sub city.

On the onset of summer residents of Dwarka are getting ready to fight their annual battle against water scarcity. Along with shortage, contaminated water is being supplied as potable. Again it is unevenly distributed across Dwarka.

Delhi Jal Board is the bulk supplier of water. Delhi Development Authority is responsible for its piped supply. The daily requirement of water in the sub city is 10 million gallons. However the supply is hardly 3.5 million gallons only. That too at higher rate compared to other residential colonies of Delhi.

Naturally for 65% of the water requirements Dwarka residents depends on ground water and private tankers. Consequently water table in the sub city is going down at fast pace. Similarly the residents are being subjected to the exploitation of the water mafia controlling the supply through private tankers.

Jansanskri Dwarka Branch Executive has decided to take up this matter very strongly with DJB and DDA authorities alongwith Delhi Government.
