A conference of group housing societies was held in the Capital. The conference was attended by AC Verma (IAS) the Registrar of Cooperative Societies Delhi, addressing large conference of president and secretaries of more than sixty group housing societies at Indraprastha Extension said that enforcing timely audit of accounts of cooperative societies as prescribed in the DCS Act is really benefitting all the members of the Societies. He further told that his office is small to efficiently handle more than five thousands registered cooperative societies and therefore some of the activities remains unattended. He told that systems of the RCS office is under IT (Information Technology) modernisation and the order for software development has been already placed on a big software company. The Indraprastha Societies Mahasangh suggested many proposals to simplify/ amend some section of the DCS Act 2003 to make them easily understood and removing difficulties their practical and legal implementation.
It is well appreciated that cooperative housing a part of cooperative movement has changed the face of Delhi through developing good and safe hundreds of group housing societies all around Delhi majority at IP Extension, Dwarka, Rohini, Mayur Vihar, Vasundhara, CBD Shahdara and more and more. To mark birth anniversary of Pt Jawaharlal Nehru the pioneer of cooperative movement is celebrated week long from 14th to 20th November every year throughout the Nation. In Delhi to mark this event and further strengthen the Cooperative movement, Indraprasth Societies Mahasangh the first registered federal body of cooperative societies organised cooperative conference at Maurya apartment in IP Extension which is attended by 126 delegates at the level of president and secretaries of 60 housing Societies. The Registrar of Cooperative Societies AC Verma, IAS himself chaired the conference as Chief Guest and SK Jha (Additional Registrar) and GL Meena (Gen Mgr DCHFC) chaired the guest of honor.
