INTERNATIONAL WOMENS DAY CELEBRATION IN DWARKA BY ANHLGT

ANHLGT working for a better Dwarka sub-city

Cicily Kodiyan
(President, ANHLGT)

ANHLGT celebrated International Women’s Day not only for our rights but also to understand our responsibility towards the Nation. Social Solidarity and Community responsibility are essential,  blaming and complaining won’t solve our problems. Protection of public property and developmental work of our area needs special attention. Benches, Iron railings, Light Poles, Fittings, transformers, slabs of manholes etc are stolen. It is everyday and regular affair. We have informed the police authorities about it a number of times. There is no light in parks and surrounding area. So it became the centre of anti -social elements and criminals. In Dabas CGHS, Ramakrishna Apartment and New Millennium apartments thieves entered the houses and have stolen the gold ornaments and other things. Law and order is a big problem in our area. We have already briefed the A.C.P and D.C.P about it.

Our Organization's mission is Green, Clean, Beautiful, Healthy and Safe Dwarka. Tree Plantation Program was conducted in July 2010 and Feb 2011. The residents and the neighbouring schools also participated in the program. Shri. Rajesh Gahlot, Deputy Mayor inaugurated the programe and has extended his full support and cooperation. Through his help M.C.D people have started working in our area. The garbage is getting removed, sweeping is done and Malwa is also removed. In Park No.4 there was no boundary walls and gate. Villagers used to send their cows and Buffaloes for grazing. Through our organization's initiative, boundary walls and gates are installed.

Parks are not maintained properly. There is no Mali. No provision to water properly. Even though there are two bore wells, but none are functioning. Many of the plants are drying.  The transformers which was stolen 4 years ago is now replaced due to our initiative and regular follow ups. As there are no poles and fittings, lights cannot be provided in and around lanes and side roads. ANHLGT has contacted B.S.E.S and D.D.A . Now the things got solved. Shortly we will have lights around our area. Service lane in front of Airlines Apartment, IFCI, Philips, etc are also on our lookout.

There was no street lights from sector 9 metro station to sectors 22 and 23 and behind District Park up to Ramakrishna Apartment and it was well known vulnerable places even in day time. We managed to get the street lights by contacting the Area Supervisor.

We are organizing Health Camp every month and demanding play ground in every sectors in Dwarka. We organize games and sports on Republic Day and Independence Day.

Our main concern is protection of public property, sanitation, pushing pending works for the development of the area, health, playground and security. ANHLGT now registered organization and have now started the membership.

A delegation of ANHLGT met A.C.P. Traffic for the traffic control near the school to put School Ahead - Sigh Boards, Speed Breakers and where there is intersection of roads to post a traffic police during the school closing times. Our members are requesting the transport Commissioner for a Gramin Sewa (Mini Bus) touching all sectors of Dwarka.

When we celebrate the Women’s Day we should not only think about our rights but also about our responsibilities towards the family as well as to the Nation. Then it will be a befitting Women’s Day Celebration. Government authorities, concerned departments and Public should jointly work for the overall development.
