Sports is a very important part of our day to day life. Sports stop wars and help people's self-esteem. It makes our body fit. It is also a fact that if we are physically fit then we can produce much better result with our mind also. Sport is an essential part for our life. All the people want to play the game even animal also play the games. Sports create a healthy spirit of friendship. A person who is a sportsman/woman is far better performer than the others because he/she knows the bitter experience of defeat and joy of victory during his/her playing days. This sportsman spirit makes him/her more rough-tough person in life and he/she able to handle any adverse situation with ease. The Olympic games, Commonwealth Games, Asian Games, International, National, local sports events are the best example which creates a healthy environment of brotherhood. These popular sports events bring all the nations, states, districts, zones & block etc. together on a common platform. These sports events provides self -contentment to each participating players and even to the sports lovers also. The question is, whether we should ignore the outstanding players who brought glory for India? The answer will be No. Then why the questions raised against the inclusion of Sachin Tendulkar in Rajya Sabha. His outstanding contribution in the sports brought this honour for him. Moreover, he deserves it due to his self-less contribution in the game and devotion. Here also, he created another record, becoming the youngest Parliamentarian in the history of Rajya Sabha .

In a press conference Sachin Tendulkar said - “I am not a politician. I am a sportsman and will always remain one. I am not going to enter politics giving up cricket, which is my life. I will continue to play cricket.” He was reacting to the hullaballoo created by the news of his nomination by the President of India to the Rajya Sabha. It is okay till the time Sachin limits himself to being a nominated Parliamentarian. And yes, now that he has agreed to become an MP, he should serve to the best of his ability and be ready for the challenges ahead.

On the other hand, art and culture of any civilization equally plays very important role in life. As you know that theatre or puppet shows, circus, local fair, play, dancing or singing were quite popular creative activities in the past years. Nowadays, Cinema, Media-digital, print or electronic has crossed all the barriers and it is capable enough to influence the whole society.

In the 20th century, Indian cinema, along with the Hollywood and Chinees Film Industry, became a global enterprise. At the end of 2010 it was reported that in terms of annual film output, India ranks first, followed by Hollywood and China. Indian cinema found markets in over 90 countries where films from India are screened.

Indian Cinema has produced several extra ordinary personalities who are known for their contribution. Rekha is also one of them. Rekha, is an Indian actress who noted for her versatility and acknowledged as one of the finest actresses in Hindi cinema, Rekha started her career with Sawan Bhadon in 1970. Despite the success of several of her early films, she was often appreciated for her beautiful look and in the late 1970s she got recognition as an actress with her acting talent. She has been featured as a sensual actress in the Indian media. This beautiful lady from artistic family has acted in over 180 films in a career spanning over 40 years. Throughout her career, she has often played strong female characters and, apart from mainstream cinema. She has won three Filmfare Awards, two for Best Actress and one for Best Supporting Actress, for her roles in different movies. Her portrayal of a classical courtesan in Umrao Jaan (1981) won her the National Film Award for Best Actress. Now, the question is again, why some critics don’t want her presence in the parliament. She is really an inspiring soul for our budding artists. If she has nominated as Parliamentarian in Rajya Sabha, she would certainly prove her role in this new field too.

Few days before the Press Council Chief Markandey Katju had challenged the government’s decision to amend the eligibility criteria for a person getting the India's highest civilian honour, Bharat Ratna. The new law says that Bharat Ratna will be awarded in recognition of exceptional service/performance of the highest order "in any field of human endeavor". By this recent amendment, the way has been paved for sports persons and film stars to receive this dignified award. But Katju feels that that cricketers and film stars should not be given Bharat Ratna as they have no social relevance.

It is interesting to note that Katju ji should also realize that both the legendary from the field of sports and entertainment has been very successful person. There is no doubt about the remarkable contribution in their specific fields. They are really role models for young generation. The fans of both the celebrities have high expectations from them and it is hoped that they will surely fulfill their desire in the years to come.
