UTTIPEC MEETING – SOME HEADWAY MADE

In the first meeting of Dwarka Forum with UTTIPEC held on 7th January, it has broadly emerged that we have to push the authorities in order to get some plans cleared/ forwarded by the next authorities including DDA, Traffic Police and other authorities. UTTIPEC and Traffic Police officials present during the meeting have agreed for conducting survey to proceed further in the matter of pending proposals sent by the Forum. They (UTTIPEC and Traffic Police) gave their consent to some proposals, though in principal. They mainly wanted suggestions from DF and residents to improve the internal public transport system within Dwarka to reduce the use of private vehicles.

In the meeting, Shri Ashok Bhattacharya, Director, UTTIPEC , Shri Prem Nath, DCP (Traffic) and other officials of UTTIPEC and Traffic Police were present and keen to have some proposals from the Dwarka Forum for streamlining the public transport system and the representatives of DF assured them they will send the feedback to them from time to time.

DF suggested for the widening of the railway crossing at Palam and construction of the Central Verge. This was agreed and the DCP instructed the Traffic Police to inspect the site.

It was noted that the UER-II work is going on as per the availability of land and the same should now be pursued with land acquiring agency of Delhi Govt. (L&DO) for faster handing over of land to the DDA. (Rajiv ji should see this point before release).

DF came to know that the file, relating to the land belonging to Delhi, of Dwarka Expressway from Sec. 23, Dwarka to Gurgaon is pending with the LG for the approval for the appointment of the advisor.

Officials informed that the Bijwasan flyover is with the SDMC and it should be followed with the Corporation.

The Samalkha project is with the PWD and the work has commenced on this, according to an officer of the PWD present in the meeting.

It was informed that the connectivity on NH-8 will take some time as the plan of new Jaipur Expressway is to be finalized yet and the connectivity to Delhi will most probably be from the Hotel Raddison point. (Rajiv ji should see this carefully).

It was suggested to DF to use UTTIPEC website for giving suggestions as the same is regularly seen by the officials of the Deptt.

The meeting was also attended by Shri Satyavir Singh, ACP (Traffic), Mahendra Singh, ACP/ SSW, and S.P. Sharma, AP-I were also present. From DF, Rajiv Solanki, P Menon and M K Gupta were present.

After the meeting, DF met Shri Anil Singh, DDA looking after the Dwarka Flyover also and he informed that the proposal for the widening of the flyover is with the DDA and will have to go to Lt. Governor for the approval of appointment of an adviser.

Issues that Pending with UTTIPEC:

UTTIPEC new proposal Link road connecting to Vasant Kunj and NH-8 FO/UP Emails dated 16/3/2010, 28/2/2012 in response to Suggestion invited by UTTIPEC.

1. Request for TMC(Traffic Movement Count Survey) for Dwarka traffic (Emails dated 19/7/2011, 28/2/2011, 6/8/2012,21/12/2012.

2. Demand to Widen the SP Marg from Dhaula Kuan to 11 Murti (At least Taj left turn could be made urgently and agreed, pending with DTP and NDMC).

3. Compliance of 27/1/2011 site visit to Dwarka, Palam Road and Dwarka Link Road.

4. Fly Over Delay of Bijwasan ROB- Chawla to Kapasehra Jn.
