18 PLOTS WITH POSTAL DEPTT. AWAITING START OF CONSTRUCTION, SOME SINCE 82
On the one side, Deptt. of Posts is in acute shortage of space for staff quarters and on the other side, many plots in its possession since 1982 are vacant and no action on ground for the construction of building on these plots has been initiated. In reply to an RTI application, postal department has supplied a list of 18 plots which include two plots in its possession since 1985 one at Dwarka Sector 8 and the other at Naraina Community Centre. On Dwarka plot, except construction of boundary wall on this plot about two years ago, no construction has started even after 28 years though the post office has misrepresented in its reply that project is under consideration in 12th Five Year Plan. In Dwarka, the Department has another plot in Sector VI since 98 and the Deptt. has given an ambiguous reply that pre-construction formalities are in process even after 15 years after the allotment of this plot by the DDA though the plot is in the same condition as it was allotted. Other plot is with the post office since 1983-84 but no building has come up there so far as the project is also under consideration in 12th five year plan. Two other vacant plots for post offices are in Rohini Sec. V since 1986 and 87 without any building on them.
