ALL THE CANDIDATES PROMISES TO SOLVE DWARKAITES PROBLEMS

In view the voting on 4th December for the assembly elections, Dwarka Forum brought together all the three candidates from four parties and an independent candidate on one platform to ask them why we should be voting for them. The reasons given by the candidates is as under:

Rajesh Gahlot, BJP:

Rajesh Gahlot said that after coming to power, BJP will also find its own water sources from Dhansa Border to Jhatikara village. The water will be supplied after stopping the rain drain and treating its water and this problem will be solved.

Mr. Gahlot also assured that the difficulties in commutation within Dwarka will also be solved and jams on red lights will be tackled effectively by constructing fly-overs and foot over bridges on all major crossings.

About 750-bed hospital in Dwarka, he assured that it will be very fast and pointed out that for retired persons, four five CGHS dispensaries are required but there is only one dispensary near Dwarka. Also assured that the work on all the roads, big and small, will be carried out.

On coming to power, BJP govt. will rein-over the electric companies and will reduce 30 per cent tariff and will give rebate of 15% to group housing societies besides providing 24 hours electric supply. Mr. Gahlot added that earlier the plots for community centres were of 500-700 sq. metres and now the MCD has increased the sizes of these plots to 2000 metres for accommodating more persons. The five Community Centres which are with power back and fully air conditioned have been handed over to the residents.

On sanitation, the BJP candidate told who is also the Chairman, Standing Committee, SDMC that the MCD has taken over the sanitation work from the private company and doing sanitation itself. After taking over this work, the situation has improved and the roads are being cleaned with the help of machines. He informed that the construction of a fully air conditioned building in sector 9 will be over in the next 3-4 months. SDMC headquarter will come up in sector 11, near sports complex. SMDC has allotted land for a grand temple to ISCON in and the construction work is going on a Gurdwara has already come up in sector 11 on the land allotted by the MCD.

He added that his govt. will ensure the safety of women and appealed for 100 per cent voting.

Gulab Singh Yadav, of AAM Admi Party:
Mr. Yadav said they will provide 700-litre water per day to every family, theft of water will be checked and the rates of electric will be halved. He further assured that the decisions pertaining to governance and projects will be taken by the Mohalla sabhas and each sector of Dwarka will be divided in six parts for this and The DDA flats which are in dilapidated condition will be repaired. He alleged that the MCD has spent 12-crore on its website and the total estimate for the website of all MCD is for Rs. 70-crore which is sheer wastage of public money. He asked how many times the MLA of the area has raised the water problem in the Assembly or staged a walk-out over this problem. He said that 900-MGD water is treated daily in Delhi but do not know that where it goes after its treatment adding that the tanker mafia of 1,000-crore is active in Delhi. AAM will ensure water supply through pipelines. Till the educated young will continue to hate politics, it cannot be cleaned. Admitting that we do not have vast experience but are sincere and resolute for fulfilling their promises as we are fighting for the change of govt. but fighting to change of system. He assured of smooth traffic, covers on main holes, security of women. He alleged that in MCD, there is corruption for issuing the Ration Cards and in a school ran by the MCD in Sector 4, the worms were found in the mid-day meals. He said that after coming to power, we will pass Jan Lokpal bill on 29th at Ramlila maidan. We want right to recall and that the decision on scams will be taken on fast track basis and if found guilty, the sentence will be declared within six months and the property of the corrupt will be forfeited. He declared that if he fails, he will resign.

Sumesh Shokeen, Congress:
Starting from the past, he said that when Dwarka sub-city came up, there were lot of problems but most of them have now been solved and this is a continuous process as we attend to one problem, other comes and all the problems cannot be solve in a day. He said that he is answerable for the problems after 2008 when he became the MLA adding that after he took over, the water supply has increased from 2.5 MGD to 8 MGD and the population of Dwarka has increased manifold and more water is required. By spending 800- crore, his govt. has made network for water supply and awarded the tender for this to L&T company. Informing that the plant for 50-MGD is ready and the Govt. has released Rs. 125 crore to Haryana for Munak canal and the water to Dwarka will be treated in that WTC. For solving the dispute with Haryana Govt, Group of Ministers has been constituted and if it fails, DJB will go to the Court for water from Munak. Mr. Shokeen said that in the past, Dwarka had only one police station and now there are three PS apart from DCP office in Sector 19. The outer Mudrika bus has been started by the Delhi govt. and we have also constructed two bus depots in sector 2 and 8. He said that the DDA is mainly responsible for parking problem as its planning was faulty. Delhi govt. has developed Delhi a lot and the Metro rail is an example of this. One more grid for electric supply is under construction in Dwarka besides that we have lot of other projects in hand. We will provide the facilities in Dwarka at par South Delhi and will see that the name of Matiala constituency is changed. The delay in 750-bed hospital is due to increase of beds from 500 to 700 and because of the addition of other services like Medical College by acquiring additional land. In fact, this will be Super Speciality Hospital which will be ready in the next three years.

Shri Narendra Yadav from Samajwadi Party and Captain Ajay Pandey, independent also assured the Dwarkaites that they will try their best to solve the problems of sub-city.
