Modern Convent School celebrated its XV Annual Day and Prize Distribution Function on November 22, 2013. The Chief Guest of the function was Mr. Amit Singla, IAS, Director of Education, Govt. of NCT of Delhi.
The formal ceremony began by seeking the blessings of Lord Krishna in the form of Krishna Vandana a captivating dance depicting different stages in the life of Lord Krishna. This was followed by Welcome Song presented by the school choir. The students of Classes VI to XI brought alive the historical saga of Chanakya, a revered teacher at Takshashila Gurukul whose pivotal role in the establishment of the Maurya Empire was depicted through a beautifully choreographed dance drama.
The Principal, Dr. Geeta Parashar presented the School Annual Report. She also congratulated the teachers, office staff and other employees of the school for their commitment and dedication.
The Chief Guest, Mr. Amit Singla, along with the Chairman of the school and the Principal released the school magazine, Spectrum. In his address to a gathering of more than 3500 parents and distinguished guests at the function, Mr. Singla extolled the excellent performance of the students and the achievements of the school in various fields. Around 70 students from classes V to XII were felicitated with award and trophies for their excellent performance in academics and co-curricular activities by the Chief Guest. The function concluded with a vote of thanks by the Vice Principal of the school Ms. Sheetal Mann.
