The budding cricketers under 13 got an opportunity to compete with each other in a mega event ‘Naresh Memorial Cricket Tournament’ organized by Venkateshwar International School, Sector – 10, Dwarka on December 25. The 12 participating teams represented some of the best Cricket Clubs and Academies of the city. The tournament was inaugurated by Dr. Nagendra Solanki and Honorable Chairman Sh. Rajpal, whose inspiring presence motivated the young cricketers. This Cricket Tournament was organized in the loving memory of his brother, Late Sh. Naresh Solanki Ji. Also present on the occasion were Director- Mr. Kamal Solanki, Manager- Sh. Ishwar Singh, the Doordarshan Team, the DDCA umpires and scorer and the parents of the enthusiastic players.
The inaugural match was played between Venkateshwar Cricket Acadmey and Sanjeev Sharma Cricket Academy. In a 30 over match VIS emerged as winners, defeating the opponents by 6 wickets and Sagar Dahiya was declared the man of the Match. On 14 January 2014, VIS and Bal Bhawan Dwarka, played the final match and VIS won by 120 runs. Vivek Yadav was declared the man of the Series. Shri Yashpal Sharma former Indian Cricketer and National Selector gave away the prizes.
