It refers to welcome launch by Prime Minister Narender Modi of new web-portal www.mygov.nic.in on 26.07.2014 making governance public-participatory through suggestions received from members of public for a better governance-system. Newly-launched web-portal www.mygov.nic.in will be supplementing existing web-portal www.pgportal.gov.in which is now only for registering grievances. But there are some initial teething problems. Registration-process seems to be cumbersome with passwords requiring several conditions which are not easily understandable. National Informatics Centre (NIC) managing the website should make it more user-friendly by abolishing all special conditions in respect of passwords for persons desiring to be registered. NIC should follow ‘Facebook’ to make web-portal www.mygov.nic simple-most and user-friendly.
Newly launched web-portal www.mygov.nic.in stopped further registration just within few morning-hours of 27.07.2014 giving the message that daily-limit for registration had crossed. India being a vast country with population about 125 crores, it is not proper that any limit may be imposed for daily-registrations. NIC should incorporate examples for ‘username’ and ‘passwords’ for those desiring to be registered on web-portal www.mygov.nic
There should also not be any daily-limit for submissions made by an individual on any of the web-portals www.mygov.nic.in and www.pgportal.gov.in If internationally famous ‘Facebook’, ‘Twitter’ etc can have unlimited postings from individuals from across the global world, then there is no reason that our well-equipped NIC may not be able to manage unlimited registrations and postings made at these two important portals. Even all special characters should be allowed on these important portals of public-utility.
With launch of web-portal www.mygov.nic.in and another existing web-portal www.pgportal.gov.in NIC can abolish duplicity by doing away with similar web-portal www.helpline.rb.nic.in which is also maintained by NIC. But for reducing heavy rush at www.mygov.nic.in and www.pgportal.gov.in it should be made mandatory for every public-authority covered under RTI Act to compulsorily incorporate similar web-portals separately for suggestions and grievances on their respective websites for time-bound response to submissions with registration-numbers provided for each posted submission.
