68th Independence Day Celebrated at The Indian Heights School


The 68th Independence Day was celebrated at The Indian Heights School, Sector-23, Dwarka, with gaiety and patriotic fervor. The school campus was decorated with Tri colour Flags and Balloons and was bubbling with the spirit of patriotism. Chief Guest Col. S.S. Kartikeya, SM and Guest of Honour Retd. Col. R.S. Tokas and Ms. Julie Tokas presided over the function. Chief Guest Col. S.S. Kartikeya unfurled the Tri-Colour, released the balloons and paid tribute to the martyrs and urged the students to follow their footsteps and motivated the students to carry the flame of Independent India to greater heights. The Guest of Honour, Retd. Col. R.S. Tokas also in his speech encouraged the students to never forget the sacrifices of the freedom fighters, he reiterated patriotism cannot be purchased it comes in us only through our love and respect for our country he also stated that by visiting to the places associated with freedom struggle make us realize the price we had paid to gain the freedom. The Principal of the school, Ms. Archana Narain also addressed the gathering and took a pledge along with the students to unite together for a common goal, to uphold the values and make our country the best in the world.

The students of TIHS also presented a colorful cultural programe. The highlights of the programe were March Past by all the Four Houses, led by the Head Boy and Head Girl of the school, the students from Pre Primary presented a tableaux depicting India’s freedom struggle. Few students were also dressed up as fighters and they sloganed the memorable verses of freedom fighters, a vibrant drill by Primary Wing and last but not the least was the scintillating Musical Drama depicting the journey of India’s Independence which left the audience spellbound, Inter-house Song & Dance Competition kept the energy of the students very high. The Cultural Program culminated with distribution of sweets.
