5th Global Festival of Journalism, Noida 2017- 2nd Day Highlights

The 3-day journalistic extravaganza,“Global Festival of Journalism, Noida” celebrated its 2nd day at Marwah Studio Complex, in Film City, Noida. This is the most prestigious and the only festival of its kind to promote journalism in the entire world. 2nd day of the festival was honored with the presence of journalists from all over India and from several other parts of the World. The purpose of this festival is to flourish mankind, integrity and affection in the country through the spirit of journalism.

On the second day of the5th GJFN, a seminar was organized on the topic “Role of SAARC in bringing Peace & Prosperity to South Asia”. Mr. Sandeep Marwah -President of “Asian Education Group” (AEG) welcomed the distinguished guests who participated in this seminar. The guests present at the seminar were, Mr. Ahmed Mohammed- Ambassador of Maldives, Mr. N.P. Singh- District Magistrate Noida, Ms. Kanupriya- Sr. T.V. anchor, Mr. Kumar Mohan- Film Critic & Editor, Miss. Ravinder Bawa- journalist BBC and Dr. Ajay Kumar-Director Asian School of Media Studies(ASMS).

In yet another seminar “Changing Trends of Media in the Digital Age”, students assembled to learn the ever changing trends in the Digital Age. Mr. Sandeep Marwah – President Asian Education Group (AEG), Mr. Ashish Kumar Singh – Output Head Aajtak, Mr. Shammi Narang – renowned Media Personality, Mr. Sayed Faisal Ali - Group Editor, Sahara News Network, Mr. Naved- Renowned RJ Radio Mirchi, Miss. Heena-RJ Red FM and Mr. Satyendra Ranjan-Consultant RS TV, graced this event.

In the event “Screening of Documentaries & ENG” several documentaries related to everyday chore and social issues were screened. Documentaries from all over India directed by budding and Professional, which were highly appreciated by the entire audience.

A master class was organized on “Sports Journalism”, which was conducted by speaker was Mr. Akash Rawal – Chief Sub Editor (Sports Desk) Amar Ujala. In one of the discussion forums“Media ke Badalte Aayaam”, a huge crowd eagerly listened the speakers who threw light on the changing paradigms and themes of today’s media. The speakers were Mr. Bhupendra Singh Mavi – Chairman OBC Commission, Mr. Pradeep Aryan – Photo Journalist, Mr. Deepak Dalmiya –Aajtak, Delhi and Mr. Umanath Singh – Editor Hindustan.

In addition to that another Discussion session on “Media & Politics” also took place, where many upcoming and budding Journalists from various media institutions gathered to discover every nook and corner of the profession. The key speakers for the discussion were Mr. Umesh Chauhan – Head Crime Time and Mr. Rakesh Chawla – News Nation.

Out of many events took that place “News Bulletin Release”, “Painting Exhibition”&“Book Release” events caught the attention crowds the most. Inaugurated by Mr. Sandeep Marwah and other guests, book release of“Bobby Pins &Other Short Stories” written by Debarshree Banerjee was highly appreciated.

Besides seminars and Discussion Forums several workshops were also held, the first of which,“Fashion Photography”, was highly successful in grabbing the attention of students pursuing Fashion as their key profession. The key speaker in this event was Mr. Arpit Gupta, a known name amongst Fashion Photographers, and an admired in his arena.In the second workshop – “Emerging Trends in Journalism in Digital Era” Prof. Devesh Kishore- Renowned Academician and Mr. Yogesh Narain Dikshit - Associate Editor, Amar Ujala were the key speakers.

The program concluded with an award ceremony where Lifetime Achievement Awards and Excellence Awards were distributed, and various Cultural Programs comprising of Singing, Dancing, short Drama performances and Fashion Shows stole hearts of all the spectators.
