Kochi's love for football on display at the Mission XI Million festival

As part of the ongoing FIFA U-17 World Cup Trophy Experience in Kochi, more than a thousand school children from all over the state participated in the Mission XI Million Festival on Saturdayand showed their love and passion for football.

As witnessed in New Delhi, Guwahati, Kolkata, Mumbai and Goa in the last few weeks, the participating students also got a chance to pose with the Winner's Trophy of FIFA U-17 World Cup at the Ambedkar Stadium, Kochi.

The passion and affinity for football that Kochi is known well for was evident at the festival with enthusiastic school children showcasing their skills during small-sided games, fun activities and workshops.

Soy KK from St Joseph's School based in Kizhakkambalam (Ernakulam) was chosen as one of the best teachers from Kozhikode, Malappuram, Thiruvananthapuram, Kannur, Kasarkode and Ernakulam, the six districts where Mission XI Million reached more than 650 schools. He was also rewarded with a HERO motorcycle.

Mission XI Million uses the school network and facilities around the country to encourage children to play the game and gain healthy habits and fine motor skills and learn valuable life lessons in teamwork and sportsman spirit. In Soy, children definitely found an excellent motivator and who would push them to their best.

Concluding the Trophy Experience in India, Fort Kochi will host the Trophy on Sunday, 24th September between 3 and 8 pm.

Speaking about the Trophy Experience in Kochi, Tournament Director of the Local Organising Committee for FIFA U-17 World Cup India 2017 Javier Ceppi, "I am happy about the colourful reception which was given to the trophy yesterday, and I hope this kind of passion and enthusiasm continues during the tournament too. We are coming up with Box Office at the Kochi stadium and in some other parts of the city soon".

The Trophy Experience is giving football-loving Keralite fans a unique opportunity to come and witness the prestigious FIFA U-17 World Cup which will be lifted by the winning team on 28th October in Kolkata.
