DDA MEETING ON 17.11.2011 ON PROBLEMS OF AREA

A meeting on the problems of the areas was held on 17.11.2011 which was presided over by Shri Rajesh Gahlot, Member DDA and Ex. Deputy Mayor. S.R.Solanki, Chief Engineer, (CE) other senior officials from civil, electrical, horticulture etc. from the DDA and representatives from Dwarka Forum, CGHS, RWA and Market Associations were present and the following issues were discussed and decisions taken thereon:

ROADS AND SERVICE LANES
It was informed that the condition of both roads of Sector 19 is very bad and Rajesh Gahlot said that the quality check should be conducted and roads should be set right. Mrs. Cicily Kodiyan of ANLGHT said that the road near the Paramount School in sector is also bad. On the allegation of poor quality of material used in roads, S.R. Solanki, CE said that the residents can lift the sample of the material. Mukesh Sinha, leading Social Worker demanded left turn on the Sector 6 and 7 crossing and issue of shrinking of area of function site near sports complex, sector 11. Official informed that some function sites are temporary and till the time the projects envisaged on these sites come up. Issue of ‘Firni’(circular) roads of Kakrola, Matiala and Pochanpur villages were also discussed and it was stated that the work of Matiala village has been awarded and of Pochanpur will be awarded shortly. It was directed to take up the ‘Firni’ Road of Palam Extn. Sector 6 on priority basis. On the firni roads of Nasirpur and of other villages, Member, DDA desired that they should be of 30-ft. wide as far as possible so that the fire tender can also approach the village and the case of Nasirpur should be sent to the screening committee. Robin Sharma of Dwarka Vyapar Mandal informed that the work of marking on roads in sector 5, 11 and 20 and other sectors is incomplete. He also said that the condition of service lane in front of sport complex is in shabby condition. Rajesh Gahlot said that the concerned Engineers of DDA should survey the entire roads and service lanes and get the bad roads repaired. A demand of the passage of about 25-30 feet in Palam Vihar colony in Sector 6 was raised it was decided that DDA should send a case of 20-feet passage for approval to the concerned department.

COMMUNITY CENTRES
Issue of Community Centres at sector 3, 5, 9, 10, 11, 14, 19, Kakrola, Pochanpur and Ambrahi and other villages was also discussed. It was stated that the case of Community Centre at sector 10 will be sent to Screening Committee and the work of digging at the sector 11 has already been started. Drawing for sector 14 is awaited and for sector 16B, boundary wall should be raised. Boundary wall for land protection will start in 10 days. For the Centre at Pochanpur and Kakrola, the drawings are yet to come and for Ambrahi village, the drawings are yet to be approved. Community Centre at Dhulsiras village was also discussed and it was informed that the estimate for this will be taken up on priority basis.

DRAINS, DE-SLITING AND SEWAGE
It was suggested that the issue of overflow of sewer water in JJ Colony, Sector 3 should be taken up immediately. It was also decided that the sewer lines in sector 16 should be laid on top priority basis. Robin Sharma of Dwarka Vyapar Mandal informed that the sewer lines of all markets, particularly sector 5, 6 and 10 markets are jammed and need to be cleaned. He also raised the issue of de-silting of drains on road number 226, 202, 215 and others and the Member, DDA said that since the tendering is a long process, this work can be done on work-order as it is urgent otherwise it will ruin the newly constructed and other roads.

The representatives complaint was that when the road construction is undertaken, malba generated is generally dumped on the sidelanes and not removed later-on. Gahlot advised to remove such malba within two weeks and said that the bushes and interlocking tiles on the footpaths due to widening the breathing space for the tress should be removed at the earliest.

PARKS
It was brought in to the knowledge of authorities that soil should be put in the park of Sector 19B. Gahlot also said that the boundary walls on three sides of the park at Palam Extn. Sec. 6 should be constructed and the lights should be fitted in all the major parks on top priority basis. S. R. Solanki CE informed that the feasibility report for the toilet in district parks has been sent for approval. It was stated that the work of fencing, shelter and fixing two gates etc. at the main park at Kakrola will start soon. Robin Sharma raised the issue of maintenance of park behind Azad Hind Society, Sector 9 and it was informed that the work of boundary wall at sector-7 park has started.

Representatives from Dwarka Forum have raised the issue of non-fulfillment of commitments made by the DDA in the interaction on 26th Feb. this year and Rajeev Solanki, Vice President, DF handed over the list of pending commitments. M. K. Gupta, Jt. Secy. raised the issue of maintenance of Herbal Park near sector 6 post office market. Gupta also informed the authorities about the gross negligence on the part of the DDA’s staff as the 8-newly fitted lights in the park kept illuminating for seven days continuously and than went off due to overheating. To this, Y. D. Sharma, Director, Horticulture said that these lights were not handed over to his Department. Gupta too raised the issue of traffic jam on the inter-sections of sector 5/6 and 6/7 on Road No. 201 and referred to the survey conducted by theUTTECH in this regard. Member, DDA told the CE to take concrete steps for redressing the problem of traffic jam on these crossings. Ms. Madhuri Varshney, GB member, DF raised the problems of the area including the problem of water shortage in Ekta Apartments of Sector 3 DDA and said that though the occupancy has increased in the pocket, number of water tankers have been reduced from 18 to 5 per day. She also said that the open DDA land earmarked for shopping complex is being used as urinal and garbge dump purposes and therefore this area stink. Gahlot said that the DDA officials should visit the pocket and the problem should be solved within a week’s time and said that the work for the shopping complex should be started. She also raised the issue of parks in Sector 3.

WATER
It was stated that the water quality of Sector 4 and 7 is not up to the mark. Rajesh Gahlot advised DDA to solve the water problem of sector 19, Pocket 2. He also suggested for raising the boundary wall at Sector 19.

STREET LIGHTS
Mrs. Cicily Kodiyan of ANLHGT raised the issue of stolen street lights and demanded to fitting of fresh lights in place of the stolen lights. She said that an estimate for this has been given by the BSES to the DDA which is still pending exhorted for an early approval.

B.S. Yadav of Sr. Citizens Association demanded erection of a fibre shelter for the senior citizens and other residents at the sector 5 park near DDA’s office. Mr. Tyagi, Ex. Engineer replied that the specifications of shelter are not available and Rajesh Gahlot advised that the required formalities should be completed as early as possible and the work on this should start latest by the end of this year.

WATER BODIES
It was informed that the work of water body at Palam is complete except the fixing of gate which will be fixed shortly. Rajesh advised to complete the work of water body number 155 by 15th December. Work on water body at Ambrahi village is expected before Ist January.

COVERAGE OF DRAINS
Mr. Gahlot also said that the tender for the coverage of the TD-5 should be issued in a week’s time. It was informed that the tender for Madhu Vihar drain is being issued and the work will be undertaken in two stages. It was brought to the knowledge of authorities by Robin that the drain near Pratibha School, Sector 10 is broken and is dangerous and it needs to be covered to stop any mishappening. Gahlot said that apart from repairing this, the open drains at sector 2 should also be covered.

OTHER ISSUES
It was also decided to trim the trees to the required level on the road-sides so that they should not obstruct the traffic. It was also informed that the work of boundary wall at Bharat Vandana Park will start soon. Some representatives complaint was about the unauthorized encroachment in front of Brahma Apartments, Sector 7 as on govt. land, building material shop and restaurant have come up.
