The Founder’s day celebrated at N.K.Bagrodia Public School, Dwarka

N.K.Bagrodia Public School, Dwarka celebrated its 16th Founder’s Day on 6th April 2016. To commemorate the day of its inception, 4th Inter-school Yogathon Championship was organized with immense fervor and gusto to promote healthy living. The school has made its mark in the field of imparting quality education and enabling every young bagrodian to be a global citizen with a balanced, body, mind and soul. Yogathon was an endeavour to motivate the students to enhance the inner and outer body and mind strength by connecting both to the nature. The initiative received enormous response and 21 renowned schools of Dwarka participated in this Championship. More than 250 students from various schools showcased their acumen and displayed many intricate asanas.

The proceedings of the day commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp and invoking blessings from the Almighty. The School Principal Dr. Rajee N. Kumar welcomed the honorable judges of the event. Mr. Anil Mudgal, ( Gold medalist in Yoga) Delhi University Coach and International player and Mr. Pawan Kumar National player (Gold medalist in Yoga Championship) by bestowing them planktons. The school principal addressed the gathering and motivated the students to integrate yoga in their régime for the healthy life.

The championship was held in two categories 8 to 12 and 12 to 17 age groups separately for boys and girls . The participants performed various asanasas per the rules and regulations of the competition. They mesmerized the audience and the judges by their flawless talent and received a huge applause from everyone.

The championship concluded with a prize distribution ceremony in which the deserving participants were awarded with gold , silver and bronze medals respectively. In the Girls category 8 to 12 age group, Arpita (Sachdeva Global School) and KirtiNegi (NKBPS Dwarka) bagged gold medals. Manshi (Dwarka Int. School) ,Anshika (Queens Valley) and Anishka (NKBPS Rohini) won silver medals while Disha(St. Mary’s), Shrishti (St. Gregorious) and Priyanshi (Indraprastha) were awarded with bronze medals. In the Boys Category 8 to 12 age groups Krish (St. Gregorious) and Vikas (Paramount) secured First Position. Japandeep (G.D Goenka) and Rudraveer (Shri Ram World School) secured Second position. Hitesh (N. K. Bagrodia Global School), Anubhav (ITL) and Dev (Delhi Int. ) secured Third position.

In the age group 12 to 17 , Girls category Shivani (Shri VIS) , Hanshika (Queens Valley) and Jyoti (Modern Convent) won gold medals. Riya (St. Thomas) and Anohita (NirmalBhartiya) baggedsilver medals. Niyati (NKBPS Dwarka) and Uddriti (ITL) won bronze medals. In Boys category 12 to 17 age group, Vishal (Paramount) and Karan (Sam Int.) bagged gold medals. Prince (ITL) and Gaurav (Adarsh World School) won silver medals while Joy (St. Thomas School) won bronze medal.

The highlight of the day was an exemplary demonstration of complicated asanas by a yoga practitioner whose zeal was not even deterred by her age who is a senior citizen of 65 years old is practicing from the age of 59. The event culminated on a positive note that yoga is beneficial in the modern life and needs to be practised regularly.
